Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE)

Linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) is a substantially linear polymer (polyethylene) with a significant number of short branches. LLDPE is structurally different from low density polyethylene (LDPE) because there are no long chain branches. In general, LLDPE is produced at lower temperatures and pressures by copolymerization of ethylene.

Properties of LLDPE

  • Higher tensile strength and impact and puncture resistance than LDPE
  • Very flexible and expands under stress
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Good electrical properties

Applications of LLDPE

Plastic bags, films, plastic wrap, stretch wrap, pouches, toys, covers, lids, tubes, buckets and containers, cable covers, geomembranes.
